The Charlotte Bobcats hope to make history for the second straight game tonight when they resume a five-game trek in Oakland against the Golden State Warriors.
Charlotte earned its first ever win in Sacramento on Wednesday and aims to do the same in Oakland tonight.
The Bobcats improved to 1-2 on their trip and snapped a seven-game skid away from Charlotte in Sacramento, as Emeka Okafor notched his 30th double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds to help Charlotte in a 98-91 victory over the struggling Kings.
Gerald Wallace poured in 27 points for the Bobcats, who won in Sacramento for the first time in franchise history (1-4) and saw their three-game overall slide come to an end. Charlotte, which is 7-20 as the visitor and will finish its trip against the LA Clippers on Saturday, is 0-4 in the franchise's short history at ORACLE Arena.
Boris Diaw chipped in 23 points, five boards and as many assists against the Kings, while D.J. Augustin ended with 12 points on 4-of-4 three-point shooting.
The Warriors, meanwhile, are coming off a loss in LA Monday when rookie Eric Gordon went 6-of-7 from three-point range to finish with 27 points and Baron Davis logged 25 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds against his former team, as the Clippers picked up a 118-105 victory over Golden State.
Stephen Jackson posted a game-high 28 points, while C.J. Watson and Jamal Crawford notched 16 and 15 points, respectively, for the Warriors in defeat.
Golden State was without star guard Monta Ellis, who will be sidelined another 1-to-2 weeks after experiencing stiffness in his surgically repaired left ankle. The team did welcome back center Andris Biedrins (ankle) from a five- game absence, however. Biedrins notched four points and four rebounds in 16- plus minutes of action.
The Warriors, who are 15-13 in Oakland, will finish a quick two-game homestand against Utah on Sunday. Golden State topped the Bobcats, 110-103, in Charlotte earlier this season.
